Birds Of Prey & Owl Workshop

 •  22nd March 2019: FULLY BOOKED

 •  Full Day Price: £145

 •  Group Size: 12

 •  Location: Gloucestershire

Based in Gloucestershire, Tom runs a one day workshop where you will be able to capture images of an array of birds of prey and owls. In this captive environment, this day gives the opportunity to really get to grips with your camera. Tom will be on hand to ensure that you have plenty of time to learn the best settings for wildlife photography situations, talk about composition, shutter speeds, apertures and ISO whilst the falconer positions and flies the birds in the most aesthetic areas and natural environments.

Tom is running one workshop in 2019. Dates for 2021 will be released in the coming months. The date of this corresponds with times of the year when the vibrant colours of the seasons are at their best for photography. On a workshop you will have the chance of photographing an array of birds from Buzzards to Eagle Owls, and from Barn Owls to Little Owls.

If you have any questions or would like to reserve your place, please do not hesitate to contact Tom either via email or by phone.

Equipment & clothing

This workshop is designed so that no matter what equipment you have, you will be able to position yourself to take some beautiful images on the day. You are able to stand as close or as far away as you wish to take your images. Typically a 300mm lens would be ideal for taking both portrait and flight shots. To improve your inflight bird photography technique the birds will be flown both towards and parallel to you.  For this reason you will need plenty of space on your memory cards! Depending on your equipment and how heavy it might be, a tripod is advisable but not essential. There is very little walking involved on this workshop, but you will be standing in a field for the majority of the day so suitable footwear is needed as is warm and waterproof clothing.

If you would like to hire a lens for this workshop I can recommend using Lenses For Hire who have a large range of zoom and prime lenses to choose from. Discount codes are available through Tom Way Photography. Please enquire for more information.
