Edition 1/10

Beauty, Power, Majesty

This is Ron, part of what once was a very strong coalition of males residing in Kenyas Maasai Mara. Lions are often portrayed as powerful hunters but Tom was looking this time to compose a photograph that demonstrated the beauty, power and majesty of Africa’s largest cat.

Edition 1/10

Thirst

During 2017, Kenya was experiencing yet another year of drought. Elephants were forced to cross this dry lake bed on a daily basis to seek sanctuary under the shadow of Kilimanjaro where the natural springs would provide the only source of water.

Edition 1/10

Descent

The leopard is a master of ambush and camouflage. As this agile female began to descend the tree, Tom framed her against the textured bark which highlights just how well they are adapted to their environment.

Edition 1/10

Last Man Standing

This bull elephant strides out across the plains giving a feeling of isolation and simplicity. A photograph in time perhaps where if nothing is done to preserve these animals in their natural environment, we will be watching these lonely figures drifting across the landscape.

Edition 1/10

The Land Of The Giants

The sunrise and sunsets in East Africa can be truly stunning. On this particular evening a family of 10 elephants made their way across the horizon as the night was drawing in.

Edition 1/10

Under Mother's Guidance

At less than a month old, this young elephant was never going to stray too far away from its mother. The bond is strong between the two with males staying by mothers side up until around 14 years of ages whilst females staying within the herd for their lifetime.

Edition 1/10

The Last Stand

Simplicity is a key component throughout Tom’s work. The open savannah provides the perfect canvas for this style of photography and witnessing a white rhino upon the empty plains, it was then a matter of waiting for the worlds second largest mammal to provide the perfect pose.

Edition 1/10

The Nomad

Kenyas Maasai Mara has a very interesting lion dynamic with increasing pressure from communities and a strong number of lions it can become difficult for some males to settle. This particular individual was new to the area only to be pushed on again by the stronger resident pride.

Edition 1/10

View To A Kill

This photograph was part of a 3 week project with the main objective to find a male lion walking towards the camera. The foot position, eye contact, lighting and background all needed to be perfect. Many failed attempts but finally resulting in this image.

Edition 1/10

The Princess Warrior

Finding a Tiger deep in the Indian forests can be challenging at the best of times but photographing one in the right light and setting takes an enormous amount of time. Over one month of watching, waiting and listening and eventually Tom’s patience was rewarded.
