• 14th – 21st June 2025 – FULLY BOOKED
• 2025 Tour Price: $9995
Limited to only four guests with two professional wildlife photographer guides. This unique safari workshop offers 6 days in camp, giving you 12 game drives. Plus, it allows us plenty of time to spend with you for an enhanced learning experience. This safari aims to maximise our days shooting in the very best conditions, leaving enough time for image reviews and further tuition in camp. Regardless of your experience our aim is to enable you to take more compelling and engaging photographs, whilst understanding more about your camera before the safari comes to an end.
The Amboseli ecosystem is home to one of the largest populations of elephant in Africa. Herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen making their way from the slopes of Kilimanjaro into the natural springs to feed for the day. This can provide fantastic photographic opportunities. The main objective of this safari is to photograph the largest elephants left in Africa, therefore we have timed this trip to coincide with the end of the long rainy season, when many of these large bulls return to Amboseli National Park. For just an exclusive experience for 4 guests, we have organised special off-road permits to give us unparalleled access and photographic opportunities. We will be using specially adapted vehicles, designed for low level shooting. Furthermore these will be expertly driven our guides, including one of the most renowned elephant experts in the area.

This photography workshop is designed to maximise both your learning in the field and at camp, so you come away from your safari with the very best photographs and knowledge possible. Our approach is quality over quantity and this style is certainly something we would both like to instil during our time with you. Rather than a simple tick-list approach, we will proactively be on the lookout for the best photographic encounters of these large super tuskers. This is the same approach we have successfully applied to our own photography over the years. As such we recognise it as the best way to build a beautiful portfolio of images.
We will be making as much use of our time at camp as possible, as we believe the learning experience does not just stop at pressing the shutter release on a game drive. Once back in camp, we will be available for a number of different individual and group reviews, covering a variety of areas from how to process your elephant photographs to demonstrating the benefits of using wider lens to show the sheer size of these animals in a location such as Amboseli.
We are met on arrival at Nairobi International Airport before taking a short transfer by car to our local hotel for an overnight stay, to rest after your international flights.
After breakfast we are collected from the hotel and driven to Wilson domestic airport for our direct flight to Amboseli National Park. We are met at the Amboseli Airstrip by our private guide and driven to our camp and home for the next 6 nights in time for lunch. We will have time to settle in, unpack and discuss the plans for the upcoming days before heading out on our first game drive around 4pm. We will then return to the lodge for dinner and drinks by the camp fire.
We will spend a total of 6 nights exploring the Amboseli ecosystem in search of Africa’s largest elephants. Each day we will follow the traditional safari routine of heading out for first light looking for prime photographic opportunities. With our off-road permits we have the huge advantage of being able to position ourselves in very close proximity to the elephants and with access to our specially adapted vehicles, we will be able to achieve low angle images for the optimum perspective. Once the light is too strong we will stop for a bush breakfast before returning to camp. When we are back in camp, we will have time to rest, have lunch and download/review our images from the morning drive before departing at around 4pm for our afternoon drive. After our drive, we will return to camp for dinner around the camp fire.
On our last day, we will have time for a short drive that will allow us to look for subjects in the first and best light of the morning. Our route takes us towards the airstrip so we will take all of our luggage on this game drive. We will fly back to Wilson airport where we will transfer to our hotel, check into day rooms to refresh, have lunch and relax ahead of our international flights home.
Arrive home in the morning after our overnight flights.
